SAFE HOUSE SEVEN
sANCTUARY ON YOUR PATH TO LIBERATION.
Roughly during the period of 1790-1860, abolitionists established Safe Houses throughout the network of the Underground Railroad for fugitive slaves fleeing to the North. These Safe Houses provided protected space, warmth, and nourishment, to those that escaped. While in the Safe Houses, freedom seekers exchanged stories and learned vital information to assist them on their journey toward liberation in the North.
HISTORY IS A SPIRAL, NOT A LINE.
Many of us, to various degrees, have been subjugated to draconian social programming and personal trauma that can strip away much of our self worth and distance us from our cultural and spiritual grounding and sense of belonging. Without these anchors we can easily fall captive to various levels of depression, anxiety, addiction, conflict and dis-ease. This is even more compounded by systemic barriers that have targeted woman and BIPOC communities historically, as well as in the present.
At this moment individuals and collectives are experiencing deep confrontations with Shadow, both internal and external. Perhaps these forces exist in order to awaken us, and to create a new generative narrative for ourselves and humanity. Rather than continuing to experience powerlessness, people are turning to face these oppressive forces and programing. Perhaps if you are reading this now, you may be one of them. It is this turning, both toward and inward, that begins the liberatory process towards wholeness, and our personal, collective and planetary transformation into our glorious birthright.
May your journey be strong, and you fill it with beauty.
